The European Space Agency has awarded contracts to Iceye and Leonardo to develop competing architectures for the European Union’s future Earth Observation Governmental Service, according to an ESA press release.
Iceye is a Finnish space company specialising in radar-based Earth observation. Leonardo is an Italian aerospace and defence group with activities spanning aircraft, helicopters, electronics and space systems.
